These one-of-a-kind saber display cases have been custom designed to precisely fit U.S. Air Force Academy sabers. The display case brackets are custom designed and precision CNC-machined aluminum to securely hold the saber and scabbard firmly in place without movement, yet allows for easy removal from the case when you want to show off your saber to friends and family.
The case is approximately 40" wide x 10 1/2" high x 2 1/2" deep. Three species of wood are available. The background is an elegant deep blue with a 7" wide by 2" high silver name plate. The name plate is laser engraved, providing the opportunity to have your rank, name, graduation date, class crest, squadron crest, and/or other significant information of your choice. A wide variety of fonts are available and we already have the USAFA class crests and squadron logos.
Each case is constructed using mortise and tenon joinery, the same type of joinery used when building high-end wooden furniture, resulting in superior strength and durability to hold up to many PCS moves and changing assignments. You can select from three premium hardwood species for the wooden frame: Red Oak, Sapele, or Walnut.
Red oak grows in the northeastern United States and southeastern Canada is finished in a lighter-colored oil-based stain to enhance the natural grain contrasts. Sapele (pronounced suh-pee-lee) is a tropical hardwood found in Africa and is known for have a wide variety of wavy color and grain. Walnut is found throughout the eastern United States and is commonly has a dark chocolate color with a variety of grain patterns. Both the Sapele and Walnut are finished with a custom-blended, tung oil and varnish-based finish.
